Advent Early Childhood School

Class Programs

Every student at Advent School is provided the opportunity to grow spiritually, intellectually and physically. Advent focuses on each student as a complete person and encourages him or her to explore all aspects of student life.

Advent’s Infant Program (6 weeks – 12 months)

Our infant program provides exceptional, nurturing care for infants as young as 6 weeks old to 12 months. A healthy balance between “tummy time”, one-on-one attention and quiet play is maintained while the teachers strive to preserve the family schedule for eating and sleeping.

One teacher to four infants ratio is maintained, with a total of twelve infants in the room. Nursing mothers are welcome at anytime and parents are invited to visit their infants during the day.

Parents supply all formulas, food, pacifiers, and diapers.

Advent’s Toddler Program (12 – 24 months)

Our toddler program provides an excellent group setting of 18 toddlers, ages 12 to 24 months. Activities vary from art experiences to group snack time to play time inside or on our outside toddler play area. Our toddlers receive special music and physical education classes planned specifically for them, in addition to attending chapel with other  ECS children on Fridays. Nap time is provided each day between 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. A minimum ratio of one teacher to six toddlers is maintained through the day.

Parents supply lunch, pacifiers, and diapers.

Our Tot Time program helps children thoroughly explore the five senses and engage in learning. Children develop social skills as they learn to take turns, walk on a “safe rope” to activities outside the classroom, and play together. Language and vocabulary development are stressed with songs, games, and finger plays. The daily schedule includes “Circle Time”, small group time, art experiences, Jesus time, story reading time, center time and outdoor play time. Specialty classes include music and physical education. Children attend Chapel every Friday.

Each age level has an Extended Care lead teacher who is available to meet with parents to discuss the program. Please contact our office at 561-395-3631 Option 1 to learn more about our Extended Care program.

Emergent Reader Program

Many three and four year old students are excited about learning to read. Emergent Reader classes are offered to Prekindergarten and Preschool students who demonstrate readiness and enthusiasm for reading. Student participate in this thirty minute Enrichment Class once per week. After assessment and placement of each student, the Emergent Reader teacher instructs three student per group, focusing on pre-reading skills or reading skills. One important goal is to have a relaxed atmosphere where children play games to learn skills – our students often want the class to go on longer! Emergent Reader classes are taught on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Fees and registration forms for this enrichment class are available at our Front Desk.

Dual Language Prekindergarten Program

We are excited to offer our Prekindergarten students the opportunity to be part of a Dual Language program. This PreK setting is designed to encourage children to become bilingual, speaking comfortably in both English and Spanish in everyday setting. Dual Language instructors are completely fluent in both languages. In the morning lessons and activities will be taught in English; the afternoon’s instruction is conducted in Spanish. This exciting approach to PreK education qualifies for the State VPK tuition credit. Our experienced Advent staff involves parents in activities and special events. We believe this program helps prepare our four-year-old students to be a part of the global community.
These studies can be continued at Advent’s Elementary & Middle School where all students receive instruction in Spanish to continue to grow their dual language skills.

Space in this class is limited. Please contact our School Office Administrator for more information.

Physical Education

In addition to playground time, students in our toddler through prekindergarten programs participate in physical education. Extra curricular programs including karate, tumbling and soccer for 3-4 year old students are available. Please contact the Front Desk for more information.
